Product Description

1937-D Oregon Commemorative Half Dollar

PCGS MS67 / CAC

This memorial coin was struck in commemoration of the Oregon Trail and in memory of the pioneers, many of whom lie buried along the famous 2,000 mile highway of history. James Earl Fraser and his wife Laura prepared the designs. Originally struck in 1926, the coin was subsequently resumed in 1928, 1933, 1934 and 1936 through 1939. This date had an original mintage of just 12,008, with 8 coins used for assay purposes. Virtually mark free silver surfaces with abundant mint luster that penetrates the thin veil of original light russet patina. The CAC sticker confirms the strength of this coin for the grade. #9347.67/33694686
